Bishop Fulton Sheen, who is now deceased, created the Mission Rosary for people to pray for the World and places where evangelization is on going. His desire was for the Mission Rosary to aid the Holy Father and the propagation of faith throughout the World.
Green symbolizes the forest and grasslands of Africa. Blue symbolizes the oceans surrounding the islands of the pacific. White symbolizes Europe where the Holy Father lives. Red symbolizes the fire of faith that brought missionaries to Americas . The yellow symbolizes the morning light of the East and 'beginning of civilization' for Asia/ Middle East
This Mission Rosary is made with 8mm faceted Swarovski crystals. There are no bead caps on this particular rosary making it appropriate for men and women. The center is the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Blessed Mother, St. Joseph and the Dove representing the Holy Spirit. The crucifix on this rosary is 2 inches long.
